The Opportunity : Design EngineerLocation: Truro (Blackwater), CornwallJob Summary:Join a world-renowned manufacturer of agricultural machinery, we are seeking a Design Engineer to join our successful design team. Based at our Blackwater production facility near Truro, youll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and refining cutting-edge products that are used by farmers worldwide.:We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of new and existing products for the agricultural market. This role is ideal for a new or recent engineering graduate with a passion for mechanical design and innovation.As part of our development team, you will: Be involved in every stage of product development, from initial design concepts to prototype manufacturing, product refinement, and production. Engage with customer problem-solving to ensure designs meet real-world needs. Work closely with our workshop team, located just steps away from the design office, to bring designs to life and refine them hands-on. Join a collaborative team of nine engineers, supported by significant investment in research and development activities.About Us:We have been at the forefront of agricultural innovation for over 75 years. From our production facility in Blackwater, we design and manufacture a range of machinery including: Bale Processors Manure Spreaders Grassland Mowers Fertilizer Broadcasters Cement MixersWe are global leaders in bale processing, with products sold in 47 countries over the last 12 months. Our Tomahawk range of bale processors is unparalleled, making us the largest manufacturer of such machinery in the world.About You:The ideal candidate will bring the following qualifications, skills, and attributes: A degree in Agricultural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Proficiency in using 3D Design Packages. A solid understanding of agricultural practices and machinery is highly desirable. Hands-on and practically minded, with an enthusiasm for engaging in diverse tasks related to product development. Experience in design and familiarity with manufacturing techniques and processes. Knowledge of electrical and control systems is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and time management abilities.
