Design Engineer Placement Student

We are committed to continuously developing our technology to meet the ever evolving needs of farmers and contractors, ensuring efficient and effective slurry spreading solutions.
We are currently seeking to recruit a mechanical engineering student, or closely related discipline for work placement within our engineering department. The candidate will work on site at our purpose-built facility, located in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.

Summer 2025Key responsibilities:
Assist in the design & development of new parts/products. Creation of 2D & 3D CAD models and drawings. Provide daily support to the production team. Assist in analysing existing production processes and identify areas for improvement
in terms of efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times, adhere to Health and Safety regulations,
ensuring safety of self and fellow employees at all times.
Desirable criteria:
Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering (or similar) degree, with a year out in
industry.
Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks preferred); the ability to understand,
interpret and create engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles & engineering concepts. Competency with MS Office package. Excellent teamwork & communication skills.
