About the Role



Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an additional

Design Engineer

to join our team at our Newcastle site. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of

access metalwork

and

sheet metal fabrication

projects.

You'll be part of a collaborative team, playing a key role in turning specifications into practical, value-driven design solutions that support our in-house manufacturing and installation processes.

Key Responsibilities



Produce 3D models and 2D technical drawings using

SolidWorks

(experience of Autodesk Inventor considered. Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and site survey information to develop detailed design solutions. Create clear and accurate job packs for manufacturing. Work closely with project managers, production, and installation teams to ensure alignment across all stages. Communicate clearly with internal teams and external customers to support project requirements. Focus on adding value through design efficiency, material usage, and innovative problem-solving. Support continuous improvement across design and production processes. Import and interrogate 3D scan data, where required visit site and scan the environment ahead of creating a design.

Key Skills & Experience



Proficiency in SolidWorks

is essential. Strong knowledge of

sheet metal

and

fabrication

processes. Experience in

mechanical design

is preferred. Proficient in

Microsoft Office

(Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent

communication skills

- both internally across departments and externally with customers. A proactive, solution-focused mindset with a drive to add value in every design. Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Immediate start available for the right candidate.
