Development Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Advanced Engines \xe2\x80\x93 Sussex / Bedfordshire - \xc2\xa3 Temp to Perm - Competitive DOE

Our client is developing a novel high efficiency / low pollution engine for heavy duty transport and power. This innovative solution is attracting huge interest as an environmentally positive and practical solution to future emissions legislation. The company is now running prototype hardware and has well-funded and ambitious plans to rapidly industrialise the technology, including using hydrogen as a fuel and validating through vehicle installation across industry sectors.

The successful candidate will hold responsibility for, and influence, key parts of the advanced engine production programme.

As Design Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 You will be required to

• Provide design responsibility for conceptual and detail design of components, assemblies, and systems.
• Co-ordinate with suppliers to establish solutions, develop designs and release drawings for prototype manufacture
• Co-ordinate with simulation engineers, or running of own simulations, to refine concepts and embrace design changes indicated by analysis
• Supporting engineering partners and academic institutions in delivering test programs
• Reporting of technical progress and risk
• Day to day management of suppliers and programme partners as appropriate.

As Design Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 You will have

• A relevant degree and experience of internal combustion engine design or associated systems.
• Proficiency in CAD, deep knowledge of PTC Creo is essential.
• SME and / or start up experience and be attracted by the unique challenges and opportunities of a small business.
