Design Engineer required by our client who are an industry leading manufacturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of company products
Key Responsibilities- Design Engineer:
- Respond to commercial briefs for product specifications.
- Developing innovative ideas for new products.
- Have experience managing products/ projects from concept to completion.
- Creating engineering drawings to obtain design approval.
- Designing new products on 3D CAD (currently siemens NX).
- Design of fixtures and test equipment.
- Prototyping new products as required.
- Testing new products and using analysis to review / improve product design.
- Testing and evaluating competitors\xe2\x80\x99 products.
- Ensure all processes are adhered to and documentation completed.
- Liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Verify designs with supporting documents and/or calculation.
- Product Design experience
- Designing components for plastic injection moulded components is desirable.
- 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience
- Background experience of 3D CAD is essential.
- Siemens NX experience would be highly advantageous.
- Experience liaising with tooling and manufacturing engineers is preferred but not essential.
- Practical workshop experience to work on prototypes etc.
