Overview of the role

You will be assisting the Registered Manager in the operation of a residential care home. Your duties will include development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans; assisting with staff supervision and administrative control; and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes of practice and legislation.


The position requires extensive knowledge, including supervisory experience from working in Adult Social Care. You will need to have a professional approach with the ability to organise and prioritise, and a good knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation. There is also a need to take part in the on call reponse for the service.

Key duties

Identifying the emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of those we care for in order to make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the management team Coordinating and leading the staffing team, under the direction of the Registered Manager Supporting the Registered Manager by effectively conducting inductions and supervisions Conducting regular team meetings and delegating responsibilities amongst the team Supporting the Registered Manager in maintaining appropriate levels of staffing by planning and managing a rota (including on-call) Supporting the Registered Manager in managing the impact of absence Ensuring staff are up to date with training Actively assisting and supporting the Registered Manager with investigations, disciplinaries and grievances Working in collaboration with other departments and homes within the Company Conducting risk assessments for both staff and those we care for Undertaking audits of key areas of the service

Where will you work?

This service is provided by Witham Valley Care, our sister company in Lincoln. This residential service provides 24 hour care for 6 adults with a learning disability and/or autism and challenging behaviours. The home is situated in a fully converted and updated farmhouse. Village Farm has six individual en-suite bedrooms as well as communal space including a lounge, dining room and games room/ second lounge. The home has a family feel with the individuals living here encouraged to participate in the day-to-day running of their home.
