About us

One to One Crisis Intervention opened in 1997 and creates homes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties from the ages of 7-18 years. We provide small homes for either one or two young people, helping us to provide intensive and individualised care. We focus on providing young people with nurture, structure, routine, and consistency with a therapeutic approach to behaviour management.

About You

Many of our young people have experienced abuse and traumatic experiences and as a result, can struggle to trust and rely upon the adults around them. It is through your consistent, nurturing and boundaried approach that our young people will begin to form relationships, which will enable us to support them in reaching their full potential and to feel valued.

With our in-depth training, you will have the ability to see beyond behaviours which challenge and identify the root cause, supporting young people to develop healthy coping strategies.

Do you have the following skills and positive attributes?

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the young person and service, including evenings, overnight and weekend hours. Ability to implement, update and follow care plans, as well as other documentation in partnership with the Registered Manager. Ability to work as part of a team and the wider organisation, deputising for the Registered Manager during periods of leave. The resilience and self-esteem to see beyond behaviours which challenge and not take them personally. Excellent communication and relationship building skills with young people, colleagues, and wider professionals. Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly. Ability to stay calm, particularly during volatile situations and to role model and mentor others to do so. Ability to confidently challenge inappropriate behaviour and implement appropriate boundaries to create the feeling of security and stability. Acting as a positive role model for young people and other staff members.

Role requirements:

Level 3 qualification in residential childcare or equivalent. At least two years' experience working with young people, in the last five years. Excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices. Full UK Driving licence and access to a car for work use with business insurance.

Why work for us?

The work we do is incredibly rewarding and when we see our children working towards their full potential, it's the best feeling in the world! Our work is emotionally and physically demanding at times, which is why we have support in place from our experienced and qualified Registered Managers and free Employee Assistance Programme. In addition to these, you will be supported with monthly one to one sessions, regular coffee mornings, company BBQ's and breakfasts out as well as other events.

We offer great work/life balance. Due to the nature of the role, our staff work 24-hour shifts, including a sleep in. Full time hours for this role include three shifts a week (one of which is at the weekend). We offer flexibility to fit around your personal commitments.

All of our staff are provided with high quality training to ensure their practice and knowledge remains up to date. We offer every member of staff the opportunity to choose an area of expertise, where you will receive additional training and have the chance to become a 'champion' in your chosen field.
