We are seeking a Deputy Local Service Manager to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Old Milton Road is located in the centre of New Milton and within walking distance of the seafront. We provide care and support for 10 adults aged 18 and over, who have learning disabilities by enabling them to live as independently as possible. The service contains a shared house and 5 individual flats.

The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach and would need to be compassionate and caring and be able to offer flexibility in their new role as the Deputy Local Service Manager to support the business needs and deliver a quality service to our residents.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all. The role of Deputy Local Service Manager will include:

  • Managing, recruiting, developing and training staff within appropriate legislative or NVQ frameworks and devise effective and well run staff rotas
  • Promoting best practice within the service by monitoring relationships with service users, relatives and visitors to ensure quality services are carried out by staff
  • Ensuring effective support systems are in place and that we operate in a fully compliant way
  • Preparing, promoting and coordinating intensive housing plans
Skills and experiences:
  • Proven management or supervisory experience gained within a supported living environment
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory legislation and good practice principles is essential
  • Compassionate, caring and hard working with a hands on approach to intensive housing management
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • An understanding of CQC standards and putting them into practice
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence would be desirsble
