Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home



Location: Oxton Village, Wirral



Salary: Up to 40,000 per annum



We are seeking an experienced and proactive

Deputy Manager

for a 3 bed EBD & LD therapeutic children's home near Oxton Village on the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Support Worker/ Team Leader to take the next step, or a Deputy Manager who is ambitious about furthering their career.

About the Role



As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the home, working closely with and deputising for, the Registered Manager to ensure high-quality care. You will lead by example, offering guidance and support to your team, and ensuring that each young person receives a bespoke care plan tailored to their needs.

Your responsibilities will include:



Assisting in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and regulatory requirements. Providing leadership and mentoring to staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence. Deputising in the Managers absence. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, our psychology team, and external professionals, to deliver integrated care plans. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people, supporting their emotional and behavioural development. Monitoring care standards, conducting assessments, and implementing person-centred approaches. Undertaking staff supervision and development.

About You



You will be an experienced, compassionate and thoughtful, professional who is committed to supporting vulnerable children and young people. Key skills and qualifications include:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in an Ofsted registered children's home (within the last 5 years). At least 1 year of supervisory and management experience within an Ofsted registered children's home. A Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and a willingness to work towards Level 5. A full UK driving licence. The ability to work 24-hour shifts with sleep-ins on a rota system. A sound understanding of Ofsted regulations and expectations. Strong communication, decision-making, and team management skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for promoting positive outcomes.
