Deployment Technician

Job Description

The Deployment department oversees the management and implementation of Images held by the company for the respective customers. Supports customers by monitoring and completing calls and tasks as set out by the customer demand and the service delivery team. Completes builds, configurations and supports the larger business with technical support & expertise.

Main Tasks and Objectives



Monitor calls -

The main objective is to monitor the active call list and complete those jobs according to priority with high quality and accuracy in line with the customer's needs.

Imaging -

Image hard drives and devices in line for call and forecast need.

Configure devices -

Managed service calls require the technician to perform extra tasks on the device to complete them to a standard for site readiness.

Receive and catalogue images -

New and updated images to be captured and stored on the Deployment server for use in imaging later.

Create and rollout engineer solutions -

Create DVD/BD/USB or external hard drives for engineer use in the field to deploy images.

Investigate and Innovate -

Provide fixes for current issues faced by the teams and use intuition to think of new ideas to streamline process' and provide new avenues of opportunity.

Scripting -

Write scripts to automate and streamline images deployed from the server onto a device or hard drives.

Repair orders -

Booking repairs for customers that require a managed service.

Support -

Help other departments with business needs that the Deployment team skillset is suited for, can include phone, email or physical support.

3D print design & print -

Design parts requested by the business or customers and provide a tested workable low-cost solution.

HDD recycling -

Wiping Hard drivesSSD's to be reused for imaging purposes.

Resolve & escalate -

Resolve any issues raised in any task and contact the relevant persons if a call can't be progressed by the means available to you.

Maintain work environment -

Recycle and dispose of any waste produced.

Requirements/Skills



Intuitive mindset to approach situations from out of the box thinking.

Must have a good telephone manner and be comfortable liaising with different levels of hierarchy.

Computer literate and able to effectively use technology to promote productivity.

Must be organised and able to work to deadlines.

Must understand the importance of confidentiality, GDPR & data protection.

Ad hoc duties, as and when required.
