An opportunity has arisen for a role within the Department of Accounting and Finance for a Departmental Assistant. This is a key role and gives you the opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy department with a large number of students, degree programmes and academic staff. You will work closely with the Department Administrator in supporting the main areas of the business including academic administration, the student experience and research support.
Candidates should be well organised, use their own initiative, work without supervision but most importantly, be a team player. Candidates should be numerate, have excellent administrative, IT skills, juggle a busy workload, and have enthusiasm for the role. This varied and challenging position offers wide scope for personal and professional development and is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wishes to work in a fast moving environment and to work within a highly successful team.
This is an apprenticeship post so your development will be enhanced by full funding to undertake a recognised Level 3 NVQ Apprenticeship in Business Administration for 1-2 years, as part of the University\'s commitment to in-work learning through Apprenticeships.
Working alongside experienced colleagues you will learn on the job as well as spending 20% of the working week participating in the training programme. The successful applicant should have GCSE pass grades in English and Maths or have a willingness to complete training in these subjects during the apprenticeship as part of the qualification.
There is currently the opportunity for hybrid working with a mix of working on campus and remotely through MS teams, although solely working on campus is also an option.
