To support the growth of our practice, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic dental hygienist to join our professional team. Job Responsibilities:
Offering support to patients before, during, and after their treatments to ensure they are comfortable and informed
Ensuring patient records and relevant paperwork are accurate and up to date
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the practice
Following all relevant health and safety guidelines, and staying up-to-date with dental hygiene best practices and CPD.
Provide dental hygiene care to a wide range of patients
Obtain a detailed dental history from patients and evaluate their medical history
Keep complete, accurate and contemporaneous patient records
Complete periodontal examination and charting and use indices to screen and monitor periodontal disease
Conduct a periodontal screening and examination within your competence
Diagnose and treatment plan within your competence
Plan the delivery of care for patients
Give appropriate patient advice
Provide preventive oral care to patients and liaise with dentists over the treatment of caries, periodontal disease and tooth wear
Undertake supragingival and subgingival scaling and root surface debridement using manual and powered instruments
Use appropriate anti-microbial therapy to manage plaque-related diseases
Adjust restored surfaces in relation to periodontal treatment
Apply topical treatments
Give patients advice on smoking cessation
Care of implants and treatment of peri-implant tissues
Identify anatomical features, recognise abnormalities and interpret common pathology
Carry out oral cancer screening
If necessary, refer patients to other healthcare professionals
About You:
We are looking for a proactive and caring individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have the following:
Qualified Dental Hygienist
with GDC registration
A minimum of 1 years experience (experience in a private practice is an advantage but not essential)
Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-first approach
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of dental software (training will be provided)
Up-to-date with CPD and compliance requirements
Positive attitude, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Shows initiative
