An exciting new opportunity has opened up at the North Wales site for a Thin-film coating engineer to join the Design and Development team. The successful candidate will form part of the experienced engineering team located on this site and will be responsible for developing engineering processes in-line with business requirements. Job Outline:

We are seeking a highly self-motivated, creative and hard-working candidate. In this role the candidate will be responsible for completing an Engineering Degreeand an internal training plan alongside day-to-day tasks within the work environment. The candidate's responsibilities will increase within the engineering team as their knowledge and understanding develops.

Key Responsibilities:

The main duties of this position (increasing in autonomy as knowledge grows) will include:

Working within a multi-disciplinary team through all stages of the thin-film coating development process: Understanding & operation of a range of thin-film/vacuum deposition technologies & platforms Contributing to and reviewing product technical specifications Development of thin-film designs & processes Presenting designs at relevant project reviews, both internal and with the customer Generating design data for manufacture Developing novel solutions to complex thin-film deposition problems Providing technical support to the thin-film manufacturing operation Producing design study reports and contributing technical inputs to proposals

Qualifications Required:



It is essential that all applicants have a high level of general education and must have, or expect to receive, a minimum of 2 x B grades at A-Level (excluding General Studies). The role will require proficiency with Mathematics and Physics, so it is essential that at least one of the A-levels are in Mathematics and/or Physics. A qualification in Chemistry would also be an advantage.

You should also hold GSCE qualifications in Mathematics and Science at grade B or above, and English at grade C or above.

Applications will also be considered from candidates who have completed, or part-completed, a relevant engineering degree course. Please provide details of modules completed, along with results.

The ideal candidate should have the following experience and attributes:

A desire to continue learning to at least Degree level Strong attention to detail, good inter-personal skills and excellent communication skills Experience of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint Excellent time-keeping Driving Licence Ability to time manage completing external qualifications whilst working full-time An interest in Science and Engineering would be an advantage Good problem solving skills Computer skills and an interest in learning to use software programs would be desirable
