Job description




This post is crucial in delivering the MOD Digital Skills Allowance, a critical project driven by the Government Digital Centre and key to Defence's targets in growing and maintaining its digital people capability. This project and subsequent phases in developing professional allowances in the Digital Function requires support from a dedicated Delivery Manager, to achieve successful implementation. The role will also deliver future professions development projects to facilitate the growth of capability for Defence.


This post sits within the MOD Head of Digital and Information Professions team (HDIP). The HDIP team provides a single focal point and professional lead for the approximately 14,000 military and civilian Digital and Data, Knowledge and Information Management, and Cyber Security professionals across MOD.

Responsibilities:



Liaising with stakeholders; deep diving into post criticality; impact and risk to Defence outputs. Liaising with the technical team to ensure delivery and maintenance of the assessment tool capability to support the moderation process. Alignment to central government pay framework developments; and working within a fixed budget. Leading on work packages, on stages of the allowance annual process and providing assurance. Supporting delivery of the annual and ad hoc moderation board process and providing governance and independent advice. Analysing data to track trends, gathering evidence of adherence to framework principles, and reporting delivery against annual Digital skills assurance parameters.

Hybrid Working




Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Applicants can request further information regarding how this may work in their team from the Vacancy Holder (see advert for contact details). Defence Business Services cannot respond to any questions about working arrangements. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
