Job summary




Would you like to perform a key co-ordinating and organising role in the team who deliver MOD's official analysis to inform the most important decisions in Defence? Working in a team of thirty digital specialists, you will organise a number of digital projects and programmes in different phases of their lives.


Analysis Digital sit within MOD Head Office under the Analysis Director and provide in-house digital and technology services and outward-facing services to MOD's Civilian and Armed Forces.


This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.


The job holder is accountable for the delivery of digital and data products and services delivered by multiple teams, managing complex workstreams to achieve value and wider programme objectives. Understanding how digital (web) services and products are produced will help you in your work but this is fundamentally a Programme Management role. You will:

manage dependencies, risks, stakeholder and supplier relationships. balance objectives and client pressures and redeploy people and resources. Know Agile and Waterfall methodologies and product and service lifecycles. be a programme escalation point and have an awareness of the bigger picture. remove blockers support and report upwards to the Head of Analysis Digital support and coach project leads and colleagues ###

Maintain and grow relationships with clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and concerns. Supported by your digital team, manage mildly technical conversations with data suppliers Maintain a knowledge of dependencies between data systems

This post suits a person who can lead and organise a large team of technical specialists. You will see the big picture but will understand that the team's clients and stakeholders, including more senior officers, will have their own priorities and anxieties which may not initially harmonise with that big picture. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
