Dbt/rodbt Therapist (developmental Post)

Truro, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.

The Complex Emotional Difficulties Team (CEDT) is a well-established and respected team of psychological therapists, experts by experience and an Occupational Therapist, who work with some of the most complex individuals in the Trusts care. The team works with therapy models such as CAT, DBT and RODBT, along with Occupational Therapy and a team of Peer Support workers who run weekly groups.

The Complex Emotional Difficulties Team (CEDT) are undergoing some exciting changes as they integrate into the ICA model of working, alongside our colleagues from the CMHT. This will mean that our client group will have greater access to the treatment they need in a timelier manner.

To support the changes, we are looking to recruit a further DBT therapist to join the 5 DBT therapists that currently work with our DBT Lead in Complex Emotional Difficulties to support the development of DBT therapies across Cornwall. As a team we currently work with the following DBT Models; DBT, DBT for CPTSD, DBT PE, RODBT, SCM pathway and ECS.

This role is for someone with an interest in Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour therapy as well as DBT. Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO DBT) is an evidence-based treatment developed specifically for problems of overcontrol. Radical openness is the core philosophical principle and core skill in RO DBT. The term "radical openness" means there are three important aspects of emotional well-being: openness, flexibility, and social connectedness.

Ideally you will already be an accredited DBT therapist although we would consider someone who is currently working towards their accreditation status. Full training will be given to the successful candidate in RO-DBT.

This post is full time and will be based across the Mid ICA area, covering Truro, Falmouth, Newquay and St Austell. The clinical time will be split between 70% RODBT and 30% DBT, to support the increasing demand on our service for RODBT.

An advert can only tell you so much, so if you are interested in this post and feel that you have the skills and passion for this work that we are looking for, please get in touch.
