Database and Donor Research Officer within Philanthropy and Alumni Relations

Taking responsibility for the overall quality and accuracy of data held on the database
Implementing a plan to improve the quantity and quality of data
Developing and running queries and reports and analysing data
Setting up and processing gifts from donors, including management of Gift Aid claim
Proactive in identifying and implementing new systems and processes to enable the work of the office to be carried out with ever greater efficiency and effectiveness, with the support of the Development Operations Manager
Developing and delivering training for other staff within the Office and assisting with queries as they arise
Implementing and managing a comprehensive programme of research on potential donors to the College, in collaboration with other members of the team. This will require the analysis of existing data and the use of a wide variety of information sources
Updating and managing potential donor information and developing and generating reports
Writing research profiles and briefings to support the work of all members of the team
The Successful Applicant
Demonstrable experience of managing a CRM system Ability to design, generate, and maintain reports and dashboards, with strong analytical skills Strong IT skills, with a good understanding of database architecture Ability to use and analyse internal and external resources, including data, to validate an idea and /or provide evidence for a case for support Excellent communication skills Understanding of data protection laws (such as GDPR and PECR) and their application to data management, fundraising and engagement Knowledge of fundraising regulations and their application to gift processing Prior experience working within alumni relations and philanthropy. Experience with project management, including the implementation of new systems or processes. Interest in and ability to identify and implement emerging technologies and innovations in database management.
