A game For All

The Data Governance Manager will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a data governance framework for the organization. This includes defining data policies and standards, establishing data stewards, and monitoring the health of data. The Data Governance Manager will also work with business stakeholders to ensure that data is used effectively to support decision-making.

About the Team

The Finance team works with every part of the FA, managing all things money. That means ensuring business plans and budgets are kept on track, getting the right suppliers on board - and enabling investment in the game where it needs it most. From strategy and insights to day-to-day, this team\'s about more than numbers. They\'re helping decide the game.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the development and implementation of a data governance framework.
  • Define data policies and standards and ensure that they are followed.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the organisation\'s principal information assets.
  • Establish data stewards and educate them on their responsibilities.
  • Monitor data health and identify and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Work with business stakeholders to ensure that data is used effectively to support decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date on data governance best practices and trends.
  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
  • As part of The FA\'s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.
What are we looking for?
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and data mining
  • Experience in developing and implementing data policies and standards
  • Experience in working with data stewards
  • Experience in monitoring data quality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Purview
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Our Organisation

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.

We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.

Your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George\'s Park or our Processing Centre, unless the role is advertised as a homebased contract. The contractual location of this role can be found at the top of this advert on our FA vacancy page.
