Food and Dairy Process Specialist

We are recruiting for a Food and Dairy Process Specialist for our UK operations


This post will lead the production of process technology standards for our main sites in Shropshire and support to the Co-packers as a Technical account Manager. The right candidate will be the subject matter expert in technological disciplines (Process, raw materials, dairy, food safety, hygiene management and CIP technology). They will develop and support the validated content of product specifications and support sites in planning where there is an impact on food safety and quality across the Yogurt and Desserts Business Unit. This is a specialist technology role, to work across multiple sites in the UK. The successful candidate will support the MYD sites in identifying the root cause, as a food and dairy process technology experts. They will lead the verification and validation plans and will work closely with site based M\xc3\xbcller Production Specialists, Tech Experts and Quality Control Specialists to support the TOTAL optimization process.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm, but as business needs vary, there may be times which need an adjusted work pattern and overnight stays.


Travel is part of the role.


Main tasks


1. Ensure compliance across MYD and its co-packers for all technical standards, procedures and specifications


2. Support all MYD sites and co-packers with Dairy Technology improvement and optimisation


3. Technical account management with retailers and co-packers across the UK developing strong relationships.


4. Involvement in key business initiatives - Define quality requirement of Early Equipment management.


5. Make recommendations where necessary for example: Equipment, Procedures, Testing , Frequency, Methodology, Cleaning, Areas to focus during spoilage issues.


Skills and qualifications


We would expect the successful candidate to have a Level 6/7 in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering, with food manufacturing experience. Managing Customers and Copackers with Brand and Private label experience to is essential. HACCP and Food Safety Level 4 would be desirable as would some understanding of Technical Specialism CIP, Food/Dairy, Process, raw materials, Project Management L3 (e.g. Prince, Six Sigma)
