Job Description

Salary: 29,228 (pro rata actual = 5,845.6) per annum rising to 29,890 (pro rata actual 5,978) per annum on successful completion of probation.


Hours: 7.5 hours per week


Holiday: 25 days annual holiday entitlement increasing to 30 days after 5 years service per annum plus bank holidays (pro rata)


Base: Cattedown Primary Care Centre


Area Covered:Plymouth City - no travel


Contract: 1 year fixed term.


About the Role


To provide therapeutic support to children aged between 5 - 10 who have been sexually abused. Working 1 day per week, and seeing 4 children per day.


Working within a small team of counsellors.


Key responsibilities:


To provide counselling services to young people aged 5 10 who are referred Via appropriate referral channels in relation to sexual violence or abuse, including pre-trial therapy where relevant.


Undertake specific administration duties related to the children and young peoples service, including electronic case and note management, client assessments and contracting, user feedback and provide statistical caseload information for quarterly service reports.


To undertake individual assessments and develop creative ways of working therapeutically with young people who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual violence, based on client need.


To consistently reach all KPIs for the service and assist the adult service in reaching theirs if possible.


Essential requirements:


Diploma in counselling Level 4 or above.
Experience of working with children
Experience of working with people who have been sexually abused.
Has good knowledge of Microsoft and other IT applications
Experience of sound knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding
