Good communication skills with a passion for providing excellent customer service
- our top priority is providing a world class service, this means blowing away our potential customers by going above and beyond the norm and winning them over with our trip knowledge and advice. This role not only requires you to be customer facing but it also requires you to liaise with internal and external teams, so you will be able to communicate effectively to ensure a positive experience for all involved.
Technically competent with accuracy at the heart of your work efforts
- You'll know your way around a computer and be quick to pick up new systems, software and technology. You will manage customer enquiries via email and phone, update systems & spreadsheets (accurately) and will have experience in using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) / Google Sheets etc.
Friendly and motivated
- We value world class customer service over everything else. You will be self motivated to reach out to as many prospective EverTrekkers as possible using your proactive, friendly & enthusiastic attitude. Whether it's making sales calls, chatting mountains for half an hour at a time, replying to an email by video or attending exhibitions & travel shows - it's an exciting customer facing role.
Into the outdoors -
You don't need to be Sir Edmund Hillary, but the right candidate will have a keen interest in the outdoors and a love of walking/trekking/hiking. Our customers are constantly seeking advice on trekking and as part of your role you'll be a go-to Adventure Expert to help customers prepare for their trip. As well as enjoying trekking, you will need to be willing to learn about equipment, destinations and general trekking information. We certainly don't expect you to know everything, but your enthusiasm for the outdoors will go a long way to engaging our customers.
Adaptable -
You'll be happy to adapt & change your day-to-day work requirements depending on the needs of the business; whether that be helping out on other departments, creating helpful content, updating systems information or even hosting a training weekend in Wales/Scotland.
Flexible with working hours
: Our Training Weekends usually run twice a year Friday - Sunday, therefore you will have to be willing to work some weekends. (We say 'work', you'll be hiking round Brecon or Scotland with Yetis & a group of customers, enjoying a free B&B and numerous pub stops - not the worst weekend in the world!) We also attend some festivals and events at exhibitors, think branded stand, goody bags and LOTS of chatting with potential customers, again these are weekend events and there will be an requirement to attend as a EverTrek rep, alongside the rest of the team, we never leave a Yeti standing alone!
We run a rota based system to assist with 'on-call' urgent customer needs over weekends - your cover expectation will usually be 1 weekend out of every 4 (with extra pay).
Ideally you'll hold a full UK drivers licence & have access to a vehicle due to the remote locations of our training weekends & traveling between our offices when needed. You will also need to be happy to travel abroad on occasion as the business may require.
We're always on the look out for new talent so if all of this is something that has shocked you into a frenzy of excitement, then show us what you are made of and ...
...apply on Indeed and send a 2 minute video telling us why you think you'd make an excellent Adventure Expert at EverTrek - send the video to becomeayeti@evertrek.co.uk
Please note we may close applications sooner if we feel we have enough quality candidates to interview.
