The Cultural Enrichment Team is a small and enthusiastic team within the Community Wealth Building department. We support residents to benefit from the extraordinary cultural offer on their doorstep, with a focus on the transformative role the arts can play in developing a fairer Islington. Whether it involves performance, music, dance or other cultural forms, our aim is to broaden access and participation in the arts.
Central to this is our work with the schools' community to provide cultural enrichment opportunities for all Islington children and young people. Providing our young people access to a world-class education and enrichment experiences is what drives us.
We work alongside outstanding cultural and arts organisations and individuals who are happy to share their expertise and skills in supporting our vision, to give children better life chances through access to the best education and support we can give them.
You will be a professional and well organised individual, with excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a highly pressured and deadline driven environment. Flexibility and willingness to learn are also key.
You will be responsible for helping to administer and promote our cultural enrichment offer. In particular, you will help to coordinate activity with schools and arts organisations, and work with schools to encourage them to take part in these unique opportunities.
You will have a demonstrated experience in administration and project support, including supporting the monitoring and evaluation of large programmes.
You will be one of the first points of contact for new and current activity, proactively responding to enquiries. You will help to coordinate a number of events and conferences, planning logistics and requirements to ensure the smooth operational running of all events.
You will need to demonstrate significant experience in a similar role, be somebody who has a passion for detail and team spirit.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form productive, professional working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
