Location: Agile, Middle Engine Police Station and homeworking

Hours/Contract: 22 hours per week (Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Wednesday)

The role

Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Corporate Development Department as a Crime and Incident Auditor.
As a Crime and Incident Auditor you will carry out risk based audits, review and update computer records and provide advice and guidance to officers to ensure crimes and incidents are recorded consistently and accurately.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Audit, create and amend crime records to ensure that the force is compliant with the statutory responsibility to accurately record crimes and outcomes.
  • Audit and amend incident records to ensure that the force is compliant with the statutory responsibility to record crime, making decisions to record crimes where required.
  • Liaise with officers to obtain necessary additional information to ensure the accuracy of crime and incident records.
  • Provide clear and accurate advice and instruction to officers and staff for crime recording and crime classification decisions to ensure that the force is compliant with the statutory responsibility to record crime.
  • Undertake the role of Designated Decision Maker to cancel crime records appropriately and in accordance with the statutory responsibility.

Terms of appointment

This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period.
If you are successful in your application, you will have a 6month probation period with us where you will be unable to for any other post advertised internally or externally.
