Position Overview
: We are seeking a versatile and dedicated individual to join our small team as a Crematorium Assistant. This role will include a variety of responsibilities. Predominantly; being van based operating our home and veterinary collection and return services. Additional responsibilities such as assisting clients over the phone, via email, 1 to 1 in our dedicated farewell room and offering client support. This position will also include a minor involvement in the following; cremation services, facility maintenance, and administrative tasks.
This role does require 7 nights on call out of 21 on a 3 week rolling rota assisting clients out of hours.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the handling and transportation of beloved pet's ensuring proper identification and tracking throughout the process.
. Confidently answering phones in a professional and caring manor.
Perform pet cremations with care, compassion, and attention to detail.
Operate cremation equipment safely and efficiently, following established protocols and guidelines.
Provide compassionate support and assistance to clients during their visits to the crematorium, including answering questions and offering guidance.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the crematorium facility, including routine cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas.
Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, processing paperwork, and maintaining records.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional service delivery.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a pet care, veterinary, or funeral services is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic demeanour.
. Local to crematorium preferred due to on call patterns.
Physical ability to lift and move pets' remains and perform routine maintenance tasks.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Full clean manual UK driving license.

Salary:
26k - 30k per annum. Plus overtime.
Working week:
28 days including bank holidays.
7 nights out of 21 on call.
Standard 42.5hr week, on a 3 week turnaround.
Overtime paid on out of hours.
1 in 3 full weekends on call.
