As we move in to a new phase of the Debenhams journey, reimagining the iconic brand and delivering our ambition of making it the Great British Department Store an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Creative Manager to join the group, working on Debenhams itself and our family of brands; DP, Burton, Wallis, Coast and Oasis. This role is responsible for driving the development and delivery of all the creative concepts and art direction for campaigns, graphic design across all channels and web site development and design. From developing a brief through to delivering finished design assets for all channels this is a pivotal role in the creative studio. Reporting to and working hand in hand with the Senior Head of Creative, the role is responsible for the management and development of a team of 2 Graphic Designers and is supported by a wider studio team, additional graphic designers and campaign production. Effective communication and liaison with the rest of the Brand, specifically Brand Marketing, Buying and Tech are hugely important to this role. This is a new role so the successful candidate must be hands on and willing to work out best practice, be agile and adaptable to change and willing to take ownership of processes; changing and improving as we go.

What you\'ll be doing

  • Work with the SHOC and graphic design and production teams as well as all relevant business functions to develop and sign off all seasonal and non seasonal campaigns across all channels.
  • Take ultimate ownership of creative delivery of shoots where necessary, working with brand marketing and social teams to confirm priorities and deliver against them.
  • Lead or support the SHOC on the creative / art direction on shoots of all scale whenever necessary.
  • Be the creative representative on all cross function projects, taking ownership of processes from a creative point of view and finessing accordingly.
  • Manage the Creative workflow, planning and implementing the best approach to meet the needs of the team and the brand e.g. effective CPA management
  • Work closely with the SHOC and wider design team to ensure that all design work is in line with Debenhams group brand strategies, including presenting to board of directors wherever necessary.
  • Work with brand marketing and product teams to develop all brand propositions where necessary.
  • Work with Tech, development and UX team to develop all site redesigns across all group brands.
  • Act as a brand guardian to ensure creative output is consistent across all multi-channel touch points.
  • Project manage all ad-hoc and seasonal projects for example press events.
  • Manage and develop a team of 2 midweight graphic designers of all levels.
