We are looking for 2 Courier Drivers (one part-time and one full-time), working from our Telford Location and primarily operating within the Telford area on a shared week basis (Monday to Saturday) but this may extend to operating between Telford and Shrewsbury as required. This role will be driving vehicles from small Vans up to 3.5 tonne Luton vans as needed, these can be driven on the category B part of the UK driving licence.
The current vacancies are primarily for an 10hr day shift pattern, which will be shared between the 2 Drivers, one part-time (2 days per week) and one full-time (4 days per week). Shift patterns will be discussed at the interview stage.
The role may involve heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods, using a tail lift and loading, unloading & moving NHS Equipment as necessary.
The main purpose of the courier driver role is to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods and equipment.
The roles will require excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards. Using electronic and paper-based forms of recording jobs and items delivered and collected, making sure that all courier jobs are carried out correctly and to scheduled times.
The Main responsibilities are:
To carry out courier journeys to defined locations and to agreed routes and timings.
To complete digital and manual documentation required by both legislation and organisational procedures.
To maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
To ensure all items are always kept safe and secure.
To always comply with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
To act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office
To complete vehicle checks prior to use, and to notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
To always act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users.
You MUST have held a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months and have no more than 6 penalty points.
