Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to serve customers at our beachfront cafe, prepare drinks and snacks, and take orders for items of hot food, ices, and waffles.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them in placing their orders. Help with food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to established recipes and standards. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Perform basic maths to handle transactions accurately. Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Assist in stocking supplies and managing inventory levels. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous. Strong time management skills to handle busy periods effectively. Basic maths skills for accurate cash handling and order processing. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour. A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
