Job Summary



In this role you will be offering both general and trauma counselling working with clients over an agreed period of time. Your base will be The Weltech Centre, Welwyn Garden City, however you may be required to work from satellite hubs or offer remote counselling sessions online based from home.

You will have a minimum 1 year post qualifying experience preferably with experience of working therapeutically with people who have had traumatic experiences.

Hours:



The role is either 16.5 or 23 hours per week working on Tuesdays and Thursdays as set out below, and either 1 or 2 additional days, also set out below:

Tuesday: 9.30am-1pm in person at TRCIC Head Office



Thursday: 1pm-8pm at TRCIC Head Office



Additional shifts which may be remote, head office, or a satalite hub in Herts:



Monday: 10am-5pm

Wednesday: 10.30am-5.30pm

Friday: 9am-4pm

There may be the possibility of increased hours dependent on organisational need and funding.

Main Duties



Provide short or long term counselling to clients Provide time limited trauma-focused therapy Maintain adequate records of clinical work Act where necessary to safeguard clients Follow TRCIC's policies and procedures Work within the ethical guidance of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. Work within agreed boundaries, maintaining Trauma Recovery CIC values Commit to and work from a trauma informed perspective, adhering to anti-discriminatory practice Attend and fully engage with clinical and case supervision Attend and fully engage with team meetings and 121's Have a clear awareness of and comply with TRCIC's policies, procedures and service standards Attend and log any TRCIC mandatory training events and maintain a training portfolio of continuous professional development Anything else that your team leader or TRCIC ask you to do that fits within the values of TRCIC and NCPS

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience



Minimum level 4 qualification in Counselling/Psychotherapy (if working with CYP qualification must cover CYP) Training must have included 100 hours minimum supervised placement within an agency/organisation and 300 hours live counselling training with an organisation recognised by and course accredited by NCPS/BACP/UKCP Experience of providing in person and online counselling for the relevant age group Experience of working with people who have experienced sexual/domestic trauma in a counselling capacity Full membership (not student) with a PSA approved regulatory body for example NCPS, BACP, UKCP A clear enhanced DBS check registered with the live checking service and references Ability to build rapport with clients in a short space of time Active listening and empathy Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to establish trust and rapport with clients Knowledge of trauma and its impact on mental health Cultural sensitivity and awareness Strong self-awareness and emotional resilience Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions Knowledge of the tri-phase model of trauma intervention

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience



Lived experience of trauma Safeguarding qualification level 2 Trauma specific training Experience of using a client management system

Pay: 16.15-17.95 per hour
