Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join a growing business as Cost Accountant as they look to expand their team. This role plays a crucial part in the organisation\'s projects by recording, monitoring, and reporting accurate costs, while also providing vital support to the Projects Department.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Recording daily costs using the project system.
• Approval of vendor CTRs (cost, time, resource) and validation of vendor invoices.
• Providing support to suppliers, addressing any queries that may arise.
• Ensuring accurate and reliable recording of all financial transactions.
• Monitoring client purchase orders and tracking costs against them.
• Creating client Variation Orders for projects.
• Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly estimated cost reports for ongoing projects.
• Creating the monthly project cost report structure for new projects, encompassing actual and estimated costs, projections to completion, and variances against budget.
• Performing month-end accounting activities, including the production of project cost reports, ensuring accurate cost recording, and executing project closeout routines as required.
• Conducting analysis of project performance over the project life.
• Facilitating timely and accurate progress billing to customers in collaboration with Finance and Project Teams.

• Experience as a Cost Accountant/Engineer is essential.
• Highly analytical and accurate in handling financial data.
• Proven ability to work effectively in teams and thrive in high-pressure environments.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
