Corporation Tax Senior Manager
London

As Barclays Corporation Tax Senior Manager, you will be working within a team of Circa 25 corporation tax specialists, across corporation tax forecasting and reporting & compliance. You will be responsible for corporation tax planning, forecasting, reporting, compliance, risk management and resolution of issues with HMRC. You will spend time in business as usual (BAU) activities and a variety of ad hoc projects, driven by changes within Barclays, opportunities identified or the implementation of new tax, regulatory or accounting standards.

What will you be doing?

• Taking ownership of stand-alone projects or resolution of specific technical issues as they arise
• Supporting the team on strategic projects arising from legislative or external/internal policy changes
• Providing oversight and strategic direction to the team in a range of tax risk management & governance activities
• Leading on stakeholder management within your technical or business area to ensure that our requirements and the associated risks are understood and appropriately managed
• Providing support for the quarterly and year-end tax reporting processes, as required
• Driving continuous improvement and documentation of corporation tax reporting and forecasting processes and controls
• Dealing mainly with colleagues in UK Tax (across all specialisms including transfer pricing, employments taxes, VAT etc.) and Finance
• Dealing with management of outsourced service providers to ensure relevant deadlines are met

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree
• ACA/CTA (or local country equivalent)
• Experience of tax compliance/tax reporting processes and practical experience of applying UK tax legislation to a complex group

Skills that will help you in the role

• Ability to work in a large team and to interact with other teams outside Tax
• Ability to undertake tax analysis and prepare tax workings covering a range of UK tax technical areas
• Ability to drive improvements in processes
• Ability to mentor and develop more junior members of the team
