As a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager, you will oversee the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, managing junior staff and ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations. You will provide technical support on complex tax issues, assist with tax planning, and maintain client relationships. Your role ensures high-quality service delivery and supports team development and client satisfaction.

Takes full responsibility for own clients and resource planning in relation to their client portfolio. Ensure assignments are diarised and delivered in line with client deadlines and expectations
Introduction to fee conversations with clients, with the support of senior management
Ensure up to date engagement terms are in place for all active client services, and revise accordingly for any changes in scope or service lines as and when changes arise
Develops a clear understanding of clients' business, challenges and risks sufficiently to brief more junior colleagues
Identify variations to initial engagement scope at an early stage of an assignment and propose approach and ad-hoc fees for any additional work for director/partner approval, so that full value can be recognised

Technical Skills
Review Corporation Tax returns prepared by Seniors
Manages a small portfolio of clients with more complex needs and provides rounded support for client base through the whole compliance cycle
Attending pre year end and completion meetings for clients, as applicable
Provide technical training to the trainees, relevant to their level of ability
Identifying tax planning opportunities for existing clients
Keep abreast of changes to tax legislation, consider how changes might affect clients and acts pro-actively to contact clients providing advice where necessary
Review final tax packs / transmittal letters for less complex clients, manage more senior review and approve for issue to client
Preparation of technical advice on complex tax matters, for review by Managers or the senior team
Ensuring review time of tax advisory projects arranged effectively with Directors / Partners.
Qualifications
Holds a accountancy and/or tax qualification or qualified by experience (e.g. ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA).
Essential Experience
It is expected that the above core and technical skills will have been developed through study alongside work experience in an accountancy practice.
