What you'll do:




Ensur

e Clarity & Accuracy:

Edit scientific content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and engagement, contributing meaningfully to our publications.

Maintain Style & Quality:

Proofread text, tables, and figures meticulously to identify errors and ensuring adherence to EMJ's house style.

Collaborate on Journal Timelines:

Work closely with the editorial team to meet deadlines for upcoming journal issues, supporting efficient workflow.

Contribute to Multimedia Projects:

Participate in the production of podcasts and webinars, contributing creative ideas to expand EMJ's reach.

Support Team Success:

Proactively support colleagues across departments to foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.

Shape Content Through Writing:

Opportunity to contribute to content creation by writing engaging news stories.

Meticulous Editor & Proofreader:

You possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for editing and improving scientific text to the highest standard, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

You have excellent written and spoken English skills, with strong computer proficiency in Excel and Word.

Deadline-Oriented & Organised:

You can manage tight deadlines and handle high workloads effectively, consistently delivering high-quality work.

Collaborative Team Player:

You are an enthusiastic team player, eager to support colleagues across departments and contribute to a positive working environment.

Technically Adept (Plus):

Knowledge of Adobe InCopy or audio editing would be valuable.

Salary:

26,000

Hours:

8.30am - 5pm, Mon-Fri

Working pattern:

Hybrid min 3 days in the office (FT in office during probation)

Managing Editor

London/Moorgate office



We offer a hybrid work environment, balancing office and remote work. To support your training and development during your initial three-month probation, this period will be fully office-based, five days a week. Following this, we anticipate a regular office presence of at least three days a week to maintain collaboration and team connection.
