Courtside is a community interest company dedicated to increasing physical activity and promoting community through the transformation of local parks. Courtside @ Cutteslowe, is a community cafe set within a vibrant park and next to a multi-activity space that brings people together and helps them to get active.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cook/Kitchen Manager to join the team to serve the local community in a vibrant and active environment.

The Cafe provides simple, seasonal and fresh food, using only the best locally produced ingredients. You will not only be passionate about cooking and serving good quality food, but also enthusiastic about the art of service, understanding the needs of the customer and striving to continually improve the cafe through your creativity. You must be hard working, friendly, enthusiastic, confident and dependable and work with the team.

We are seeking a passionate, organized, and experienced

Cook/Kitchen Manager

to lead our kitchen operations in a takeaway only Cafe. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on cooking, and has strong leadership skills to manage and maintain food quality, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Cooking & Food Preparation:



Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards. Ensure consistency in presentation and taste. Oversee food prep to maintain efficient service during peak hours. Monitor portion control and minimize waste.

Kitchen Management:



Schedule kitchen shifts and manage daily staffing requirements. Train new kitchen team members and ensure ongoing staff development. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.

Inventory & Cost Control:



Order food and supplies in line with budget and inventory levels. Conduct regular inventory checks and manage stock rotation. Minimize food waste and monitor kitchen costs to support profitability.

Health & Safety Compliance:



Ensure food is stored, handled, and prepared in line with health regulations. Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards (HACCP or local guidelines). Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.

Qualifications & Experience:



Proven experience as a cook with leadership or kitchen management responsibilities. Strong knowledge of food safety practices. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to lead, motivate, and work well within a team. Food safety level 2 minimum

Working Conditions:



Fast-paced kitchen environment. Early mornings, weekends, will be required. Full training and support provided

We are looking for someone to work from 8am-5pm from April - end September and 9am - 4pm from October - March on a shift basis including weekends. We will endeavour to ensure you receive one weekend off per month.

Pay: 27,000.00-30,000.00 per year
