Chef / Cook
We're looking for an competent chef / cook to join our team based in Bromsgrove. The job involves cooking and serving traditional food to elderly residents (as well as a nursery) working 24 hours per week over 4 days and working 1 weekend in 3. Generally this is 8.00 am to 2.00pm. You will need to be customer focused with great communication skills plus be able to work on your own initiative following training. Teamwork is also essential.

What does the job involve?

Cooking and serving lunchtime meals daily for up to 60 people Ensuring the cleanliness of food preparation areas and equipment ongoing and through daily / weekly / monthly cleaning rotas Following prep lists to ensure that food is ready and prepared in a timely manner Communicating effectively with other team members, customers and care staff to ensure the best service is consistently provided

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a friendly, hardworking person to fit into our existing team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, have good communication skills, be passionate about cooking, have good customer service skills, be flexible, conscientious and approachable.

Experience in a catering environment would be an advantage but full training will be given.

We do provide catering 365 days per year so flexibility is important - although we always ensure that this is fair with bank holidays split fairly among the team.
