About Us

Nellie's Day Nursery is an established children's nursery at Thickthorn in Hethersett, just 4 miles south of Norwich. We are looking for a motivated and experienced cook to join our team to provide our children with fresh and nutritonally balanced nursery meals and uphold our established 5 star food hygiene rating.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the kitchen, preparation of the meals for the children, and purchasing and management of supplies and ingredients. You will need to be confident to provide suitable menu alternatives for those children with special diets. Our menu changes bi-annually and the successful candidate will work closely with the proprietor to review the menu and develop future menus to best suit the needs of the children in our care.

Hours of work - 9.00am - 2pm Monday - Friday (25 hours per week). Job share considered.

Skills

Essential qualifications, skills, training and experience required:

- Ability to work independently

- Good organisational skills

- Good communication skills

- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

- Experience of preparing meals in a nursery or similar environment
