Summary
Responsible for the overall end-to-end project delivery of allocated contracts including the contract profitability, adhering to and managing Health & Safety standards, identifying and managing labour, ensuring sites have the required materials and always delivering a high customer service.
Responsibilities
Accountable for complete end-to-end delivery of allocated contracts and sites
To carry out a labour register every morning and notify Coordinator of any absences/issues
Day to day management of all contracts required works
Being responsible for budgetary control and profitability on allocated contracts/projects e.g. surplus materials on site, labour, variations etc
Responsible for continuous management of material on site and communicating to buyer
Acting as the main point of contact for sub-contractors, roofers, clients, site and Contour Management for the allocated sites
Managing and maintaining construction project schedules and an overall programme of works
To utilise your labour network and proactively seek and plan when labour is required
Responsible for all site RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) for allocated sites prior to starting works. It is the Contract Managers responsibility to ensure that RAMS are in place prior to any work starting.
To support both flat and pitched works for your given sites wherever required
Working with the Coordinator to organise your share of roofers and variable amount of sub-contractor roofers
Attend pre-start and handover meetings
Attend site meetings to monitor progress or nominate a SSSTS deputy
Making sure contracts and works carried out meet the required and agreed technical standards
Ensure regular, frequent site visits and reports are undertaken for the allocated sites
Ensure high standards are kept from start to finish on the allocated sites
Check and ensure all fall arrest equipment is in place e.g. scaffolding, hand rails, etc
Ensure all roofers on sites are adhering to the required H&S training and have all the appropriate valid site inductions, CSCS cards, certifications etc
Work closely with the Contracts Managers and Buyer to coordinate material deliveries
Update Contour Construction Manager daily, QS and Commercial Manager on site progress to ensure competed sites/plots/areas/variations can be billed
Highlight each variation with QS and ensure required works are clear as soon as possible
Accountable for the checking and approval of all allocated PAYE staff and sub-contractor wages on a weekly basis against roof prices
Work with the Maintenance Manager and manage end-to-end the Maintenance Operative on past and present jobs to ensure successful completion in a timely manner
To develop and support the future labour workforce especially apprentices
Work with the Coordinator and Estimator for all queries including negotiating variations to original agreed prices
Undertake health & safety audits as and when required
Perform accurate site stock audits as and when required
Line manager for all allocated PAYE, sub-contractor, and apprentice roofers
To be accountable for all weekend working on your assigned contracts
To report any absences immediately to Coordinator
To be proactive, helpful, and positive at all times
To conduct yourself in a professional manner at all time
To escalate any issues with to Directors as soon as possible
Requirements
Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
