This post is part of the finance and contracting team whose responsibility it is to provide an efficient and high quality finance support to the continuing healthcare function across North Yorkshire and York. The post holder will be responsible for dealing with queries and administrative transactions for all expenditure areas within the complex care function in an accurate and consistent way. Core functions: To act as a first point of contact for the Contracting and Finance Team, dealing with routine and specialist enquiries and referring to others as required. Provide high quality administrative support to the functions of the Contracting and Finance Team.
Processing, checking and authorisation of a high volume of invoices using appropriate databases and escalating queries as required. Generate payments using the iQA system or equivalent system and self-billing processes Input financial information relating to packages of care in to iQA system or equivalent database, this will involve ensuring that data is accurate and is stored and retrieved in the correct manner adhering to Information Governance guidelines. Keep procedure notes up to date ensuring they are stored centrally and are easily accessible to all team members. Provide a customer relationship management service via the telephone, email, internet or other contact channels.
Produce correspondence and paperwork, including IPAs ensuring accuracy and that they are all produced in line with procedural documentation. Liaise with providers, local authorities, health colleagues and members of the public regarding NHS Continuing Healthcare, Section 117 Aftercare and Funded Nursing Care. Deal with challenges from providers; this may include providers who raise issues regarding their accounts. Use negotiation and communication skills to explain issues/processes, to address the issues raised and to reach a satisfactory conclusion.
Use judgement about whether or when to escalate matters to senior members of staff. Receiving incoming post and emails and distributing to the team Taking notes at meetings. Drafting and typing letters and reports to professionals and members of the public. To communicate sensitive, confidential information appropriately to health and social care colleagues, providers and others as necessary.
To carry out any other duties as needed by the department The post holder will be expected to work within defined policies and procedures, but expected to manage their own workload within these, escalating issues appropriately as they arise.
