My client in Dorset is looking for an experienced Consutlant Social Worker to join their ChAD team based at Westport House ,Wareham.

Suitable candidates must have a degree in social work, be on SWE and have extensive post qualification experience in a similar team.

Consultant Social Workers are required in our Children\'s Advice & Duty (ChAD) team. The team work their full-time hours over a 4-day working week.

The integrated front door to Childrens Services encompasses the Childrens Advice & Duty (ChAD) Service, the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), Early Help Hub (EHH) and our Out of Hours service (OOHS). Experienced Social Worker who can work flexibly, remain calm and thoughtful under pressure are required to support colleagues and promote relationships with partner agencies, and our communities.

The ChAD Service is a telephone, conversation and consultation-based service for all safeguarding contacts and referrals, one where relationships and collaboration is promoted to ensure that children and young people receive the right support, first time and in their communities. We work closely with our Early Help Hub colleagues and MASH partners, so being an effective communicator and adopting a strengths-based approach is key.
The ChAD Service works 365 days per year and the Consultant Social workers work on a rota basis. The Social Workers cover 8am to 10 pm Mon - Fri and 9am -10pm Sat and Sun. This is done on a 14 week rolling rota with a combination of shifts that are either 8 - 6.15, 9- 7, 10 - 8 or 12 - 10. At weekends they work 9-10 on one day and 1 - 10 on the other. Weekend working is typically twice in this 14 week period. Workers do 4 shifts a week and there are also 7 additional on call shifts during the 14 weeks, typically once a fortnight

This requires a flexible and solution-focused approach, with a clear understanding of demand and how we can all work together to meet the service needs and support each other.
