Applications are invited for a full time Consultant Radiologist post specialising in PETCT and general radiology, which has arisen from the increasing PET activity and outstanding unfilled sessions within the department. The appointment offers an opportunity to strengthen an established Nuclear Medicine team, which consists of 9 radiologists - three of whom are dually qualified as Nuclear Medicine Physicians as well as Clinical Radiology.Main duties of the jobThe mainstay of the post will be PETCT reporting (up to six sessions), with FDG and non FDG tracers, including Ga-68 DOTATATE and Ga-68/F-18 PSMA tracers. The post will include general radiology sessions (up to two sessions), and the successful candidate is expected to support and participate in departmental objectives which includes ultrasound scanning, duty/urgent radiology reporting, weekday evening and weekend support for trainees, and may include the provision of extended-day consultant lead reporting and general on-call in the future.The post will be based at the Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's campuses, but may change in view of the Trust site and clinical strategy reviews which are on-going. The post holder will also be expected to play an active role in trainee supervision - as a clinical or educational supervisor - and teaching as well as close liaison with clinical staff, and have ambitions to take on various management roles in the department. The Nuclear Medicine department is dynamic and innovative, specialising in non-FDG tracers such as amyloid brain PET, Ga-68 DOTATATE & PSMA, F-18 choline as well as the mainstay of the service with F-18 FDG.The Nuclear Medicine department is the leading centre in the UK in amyloid PET imaging in dementia, was also one of the first in the UK to introduce Ga-68 DOTATATE PET into clinical practice, and an accredited European Centre of Excellence for Neuroendocrine Tumours. The Trust is embedded in the NHSE Phase 2 PETCT contract in collaboration with the RM Partners PET consortium, which has seen a steady growth in PET activity over several years, and implemented rapid scanning and reporting turnaround times, including a FDS lung service.Currently, the Trust has one digital PETCT based at Charing Cross Hospital. In order to continue delivering an effective PET service, we are currently in the process to add a second PETCT on the Charing Cross Hospital campus, to go live in 2026. • On GMC's register with a Licence to Practice or eligible to apply for GMC registration and a Licence to Practice
• On GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interviews or eligible for specialist registration
• Appropriate Royal College of Radiologist Membership

Knowledge/ SkillsEssential

• Fellowship level subspecialty training in PETCT
• Ability to report FDG and non FDG PETCT studies
• IT Skills and computer literacy
