UHBW are looking to recruit a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in complex trauma and limb reconstruction. This is an exciting time to join the Limb Reconstruction team at UHBW as we look to expand the move operating to the elective Hub at Southmead hospital. You will be existing team of 2 consultants supported by Plastic surgeons at Southmead. The Service offers tertiary referral services to the South West of England and further afield. Centre of excellence.Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will be expected to undertake general and fracture/acute clinics, including a commitment to the Virtual Fracture Clinic. The successful applicant will have a component of their job plan dedicated to ward rounds and junior clinical supervision/on-ward teaching. In addition, the post-holder will have a commitment to general trauma lists, elective operating, and an on-call commitment as per the weekly team duties and 1 in 12 weekends with expected flexibility due to rota reorganisation. The job plan will be split 8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA.Interview Date = 13th May 2025The limb reconstruction service currently consists of 2 dedicated surgeons with close working relationships with the plastic surgical team at Southmead Hospital at North Bristol Trust, with cross city MDT clinics on a weekly basis.
