We are looking for enthusiastic doctors to lead the gastroenterology service at North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH). NMGH is the newest part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Its gastroenterology services has recently been disaggregated from the Northern Care Alliance service that previously provided gastroenterology care to the hospital.The post-holders in NMGH will join an established team of gastroenterologists in MFT who deliver inpatient care to three large acute hospitals (NMGH, Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe Hospital) and outpatient care across Manchester and Trafford.Preferred Clinical Sub-SpecialtiesThis job is open to applicants with any sub-specialty interest in gastroenterology, however, the structure of the existing clinical gastroenterology team in MFT mean that applications from colleagues with sub-specialties in luminal gastroenterology especially in aspects nutrition and cancer.Main duties of the jobThe exact duties of the appointees will be subject to discussion, but a proposed programme of weekly sessions is based on a working week of 10 PAs (units of Professional Activity) in accordance with the Terms and Conditions - Consultants (England) 2003.
