About the Opportunity
Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland\'s first Nuclear Power station.
Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Jacobs are seeking a Fire Safety Engineer as part of a team of specialist fire safety and compliance professionals reporting to the Fire Safety Manager. The main purpose of the role is to determine, manage, drive and coordinate construction Fire Safety projects for the construction phase of the Hinkley Point C project before permanent fire safety solutions and systems are available. This will include, but is not limited to, the determination and design of temporary fire safety solutions to include temporary compartmentation, smoke control, fire barriers, fire alarm and detection systems.
The role will also provide advice and guidance on fire safety engineering matters to the Principal Contractor, ensuring fire safety standards are set and maintained across the HPC project. Promoting the development of a positive fire safety culture amongst a wide array of Contractors and stakeholders will be key along with supporting the development and implementation of fire safety systems and policies.
