Reports to: Project Director, PT&D



As a

Construction Director

you will have the skills and competence to;


Influence, create and articulate strategy through to implementation. Holds overall accountability for construction of substation projects, ensuring constructability at all stages (design/development to commissioning). To provide management, leadership and inspires a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals. To determine the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project/portfolio requirements, objectives and constraints: time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits.

What you'll be doing



Report on pre-construction and construction performance and benefits realisation Assess the suitability of the project construction at all stages aligns with the business and stakeholder objectives Supervise all construction/design team involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation Manage the structure, focus and discipline of the Construction Team Ensure and maintain resource levels required for successful programme delivery Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines Escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority Accountable for KPI's in line with project objectives and monitor performance Champion ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people Maximise the use of planning & project controls tools to establish realistic baselines throughout the team Ownership of budget, cost control and cost recovery, setting project/portfolio targets accordingly Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery - data driven decisions


Who we're looking for



Proven track record in managing and leading large teams in particular major healthcare projects. Demonstrable experience of innovation, in all fields(Health and Safety, Operational Delivery etc) Experienced in the recruitment and development of talent within the business, including

mentoring, stretch and challenge for junior team members and ensuring clearly defined


development plans are in place
Strong leadership and management skills, including completion of formal qualification (eg ILM). Wide ranging independent judgement evident, proven track record in this regard Has achieved professional accreditation and undertakes extra-curricular activities to advance the profession (eg ICE, IHT, CMI) Acceptance of responsibility of role, and actively seeks opportunities to enhance personal performance Experienced in the delivery of lean construction techniques
