About the role:





The Compounding Pharmacistis to ensure that all of HeliosX's compounded medication conform to the specifications outlined. Assist the Lab Supervisor in overseeing and participating in the day-to-day manufacture of pharmaceutical products. This will be in accordance with the General Pharmaceutical Council Regulations, Guidance for Registered Pharmacies preparing Unlicensed Medicines, in line with internal SOPs, risk assessments and from other regulatory or advisory bodies.


What you'll be doing in the role:




Manufacturing and quality assurance




Perform quality checks on batches of product ensuring they comply with the quality specifications. Verification of calculations, raw material information and data entry when creating electronic batch production records. Investigate occurrences of non-conformances to SOPs during manufacturing processes with Lab Supervisor and Superintendent Pharmacist. Hold team briefings regarding process adherence or to raise awareness about potential product quality issues and suggest actions to minimise defects. Develop action plans to prevent recurrence of near misses Carry out root causes analysis on failed batches to prevent recurrence To manage and reduce contamination risks in the manufacturing areas. Troubleshooting/lapses mid production of treatment and carry out remedial actions to prevent batch failure. Perform quality checks on quarantined incoming raw materials and approve for general use. Perform quality checks on equipment and quarantine faulty items until function is restored or items replaced.

Admin and documentation




Ensure all master batch records are kept up to date and accurate Assist the Lab Supervisor and Superintendent Pharmacist to maintain all documents and necessary information to comply with legislation. Identify process gaps and address them by drafting new SOPs. In addition to reviewing existing SOPs. To document and investigate near misses that occur during the manufacturing process Manage changes associated with batch production documentation and perform robust QA reviews and instruct others to complete technical reviews for all documentation. Carry out audits with the view to improve processes and efficiency during manufacture. Help implement ideas for positive changes. Cross reference COSHH forms for APIs and other raw materials with manufacturers' safety documentation. Carrying out risk assessments for processes and machinery in the laboratory and warehouse

Related duties




The above is in addition to the responsibilities of an ACT. Supporting the Superintendent Pharmacist by effective technology transfer from R&D to production scale. To carry out additional projects that will help manage the workload, improve efficiency and the effectiveness of the team by supporting new staff aiding their development

Accredited ACT qualification (Required) Working knowledge of cGMP Proven track record of Buttercups mentoring
