The full-time starting salary is normally 34,226.00 per annum, with progression available in post to 37,203.00 per annum.


Grade: SO1




Full time, Maternity Cover until November 2025





The Compliance Officer role will support a range of quality assurance, compliance and administrative activities that relate to externally funded projects at Birmingham City University. A more detailed list of activities and responsibilities associated with the role includes:


Assist the Compliance Manager in providing support in the development, implementation and maintenance of project management to maximise the robustness of the data to meet audit requirements Produce review reports and establish systems needed to monitor performance. Assist in the maintenance of both financial and non-financial reviews of externally funded projects. Provide support in the development and implementation of a Management Information Systems (MIS) in relation to the monitoring of externally funded activity across the University. This will require skills in SharePoint and Excel. Assist the Compliance Manager with SharePoint administration.

Essential Criteria Include:




Education

: Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree or alternatively a relevant professional qualification.


Experience

:


Experience of maintaining necessary documentation that may be reviewed internally or externally through review, audit or similar. Experience of working with common Microsoft Office software packages including SharePoint and Excel. An understanding of risk management

Personal Characteristics

:


An ability to work as part of a small, focused team. An ability to work independently when required. The ability to establish professional credibility with senior staff internal and external to the University. Must be willing to undertake training in various software packages when required. Adaptability to meet the changing demands and needs involved in project compliance. Ability to deal confidently, but flexibly with a wide variety of academic staff and people within partner organisations. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical skills. Diligent and detail-focused.
