Company Accountant

Shufflebottom Ltd, founded in 1977, is an award-winning structural steelwork manufacturer serving Commercial, Agricultural, and Industrial clients across the UK. Now part of the ambitious Embrace Steel Group, we are entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

We are looking for a proactive and capable Company Accountant to take ownership of the finance function and help drive the business forward

The role responsibilities would include:

Leading and defining the accounts department

Preparation of monthly management accounts

Cashflow forecasts

Working closely with Directors and Group to deliver annual budgets and updated P&L forecasts

Preparation of the statutory financial statements for main business entities

Review the posting of the monthly accounting entries, including prepayments and accruals

VAT Returns, Corporation tax returns and CIS Returns

Invoice processing

Supplier payments

Providing support and costings on major projects

Supporting the Directors with other ad hoc tasks as required

Liaising with the external auditors

The person

Qualified by experience, Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant nearing completion (CA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW)
Commitment to meeting demanding reporting deadlines

Good working knowledge of Sage 200

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

Confident communication skills

Willing and able to take responsibility and ownership for tasks

Able to work alone when required or as part of a team

Keen to suggest and implement improvements to the current way of working

Open and flexible to the changing demands of the organization

Manufacturing experience would be helpful

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-50,000.00 per year
