Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM)

is looking for a

Community Mobiliser

to support groundbreaking research initiatives aimed at reducing health inequalities.



As a

Community Mobiliser

, you will play a crucial role in engaging local communities and supporting the implementation of health-related research projects. You will collaborate closely with researchers, health professionals, and community members to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of interventions designed to address health disparities. The Community mobiliser will support a portfolio of health equity projects in Liverpool. This includes the ReCITE project to understand and evidence the role of storytelling in improving health equity (ReCITE).





Key responsibilities are (but not limited to):





Interact with target populations to gain insight into health inequalities Work with the Senior Community Mobiliser and Community Innovation Teams to identify key informants and research participants Feedback on research findings and insights as they emerge to enable effective decision making Contribute to reports, briefing papers and presentation for internal and external audiences Support and participate in training of trainers for rollout of training to newly established Community Innovation Teams Organise venues for project meetings, key informant interviews and focus group discussions and ensure refreshments organised where appropriate


The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and have good written and spoken English and have excellent interpersonal skills.

You will be able to demonstrate:





First degree in social science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Arts or Health related discipline (desirable)*
Able to easily communicate messages verbally to lay audiences, and with BAME community, migrant, asylum seekers and refugees Good facilitation or training skills Ability to write technical reports, press releases and project blogs Strong organisational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Experience in grassroots community organisation (desirable)*
