Job description
1 You will be expected to assist the centre manager, team, and management committee on all centre operations to allow the centre to deliver its programme and meet its targets for community provision.
2 To assist the manager in capacity building and developing the centre programme to best suit the needs of the members and community
3 To assist in the day-to-day centre correspondence, marketing and admin.
4 To liaise with other community groups and business to build up good working relations and networking.
5 To lead our Phoenix clubs, including the creation of the programme, recruitment of new members, and promotion of the clubs. You will also support the team to develop various parts of the programme such as the gaming club, didi-car club, coffee morning, music groups, and men's club. You will develop any clubs that need additional members and support.
6 To assist in the promotion of the centre and its projects.
7 As part of the team, to assist with general cleaning tasks, room set up, and tidying. This includes supporting our cafe on occasions. All staff members help where needed during busy periods.
8 To create your own work plans and ensure tasks are completed.
9 You will be expected to show initiative and seek new opportunities relating to the programme and business.
10 You will be expected to be able to work in a team as well as on an individual basis offering constructive suggestions and viewpoints.
11 The role of development worker will be diverse. You will be expected to adapt to the ever changing needs of the community and work with multiple agencies to improve the lives of our members and residents.
12 A couple of times a year, each staff member is expected to cover a weekend shift.

Requirements
Must have basic level of IT skills in Word, email, and admin skills.
Experience of working in the third sector is advantageous, but not a requirement.
Familiarity with social media platforms for community engagement is a plus.
