Your role
Greater Manchester is one of the country\'s most successful city-regions and home to more than 2.8m people, with an economy bigger than that of Wales or Northern Ireland. Our vision is to make Greater Manchester a place where everyone can live a good life, growing up, getting on and growing old in a greener, fairer more prosperous city-region.
Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is made up of the 10 councils and an elected Mayor who work with other local services, businesses, communities, and partners to continuously improve the city-region.
In October 2019, with investment from the Home Office, GMCA established the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit (VRU). The unit brings together experts in health, police and criminal justice, education, youth justice, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector to address the underlying causes of violent crime and work together with communities across our city-region to prevent it.
The VRU Communications Manager oversees and delivers all communications and engagement activity for the unit, including campaigns, internal communications, stakeholder engagement, media relations, and digital communications.
