Do you have an interest in climate change? We are delighted to assist our client with the recruitment of a Communications Manager, to work on a world leading initiative. You will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the brand and its communication strategy, coordinating a range of projects.
This is a temporary position, for approximately 12 weeks (possible extension). Working hours are 37.5 per week and a blend of office and home working will be offered and agreed with management.
Main Duties
Support on the development and implementation of the brand and communications strategy working with the Content and Communications committee. This includes:
Drafting, publishing, distributing and promoting content across all communication channels, including the website and associated social media
Writing and editing articles to support materials being shared across the network
Ensuring consistent use of the brand on materials and events across the network in line with the existing brand guidelines
Improving SEO and international tagging
Work with Content Lead and the broader Content Team to plan production of content and its dissemination
Work with knowledge and communication partners to develop, disseminate and promote materials to reach key audiences
Provide communications support in line with strategy. Over time this may involve the development of easy-to-use and simple frameworks to support the network to run their own marketing campaigns
Manage the brand for new launches, liaising with relevant partners
Approve and publish events on the website with the events schedule plug-in
Develop an awareness and understanding of the external climate governance marketplace, keeping up to date on other organisations in the same area
Support the Centre team with contact management and manage contacts relevant to branding and communications
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
Bachelor\'s degree (or equivalent) in International Relations, PR, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or similar
Significant professional experience, in PR, communications, advertising, marketing or similar
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong presentation skills
Excellent knowledge and understanding of communications practices, tools and techniques in digital media.
Excellent understanding of social networking tools and their application.
Ability to work well within a team, to be flexible and committed to the collective output of the project, and to be able to manage oneself independently in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to self-motivate, with excellent organisational and time management skills
Good understanding or interest in the international climate change agenda and corporate climate action
Experience of setting up and running online events
Familiarity with WordPress or similar website content management systems
Experience of developing websites and other digital media outputs (desirable)
Experience of producing videos or podcasts (desirable)
